In The Ghost Bride’s first ever digital conference held at The Oriental Palace, Kim Chiu expressed how pressured and scared she is for this one-of-a-kind project, which she refers to as Roño’s masterpiece.

Sobrang takot ako kasi ito rin yung first time na mag-isa ako sa movie poster,” says Kim referring to the movie poster of The Ghost Bride. The film centers on Mayen, a Filipino-Chinese girl who gambles in a secret tradition of marrying the dead in order for others to live.

Kim also shared her experience working with her favorite actress, Alice Dixon. “Ang ganda ganda niya talaga. Sobrang na-starstruck ako sa eksena namin, kaya sabi ni direk, ‘Ano na Kim? Kinakain ka na niya sa eksena'”

She shared that she had to snap out of it, and do the scene despite being starstruck.

The Ghost Bride exposes a myriad of strange practices, both ancient and modern, that continues to affect certain groups of the Filipino-Chinese community, specifically in Manila’s fabled Chinatown, Binondo.

The Ghost Bride also stars Matteo Gudicelli, Christian Bables, Robert Sena, Ina Raymundo, Beverly Salviejo, Isay Alvarez, Nanding Josef, Mon Confiado, Cacai Bautista, and Jerome Ponce. It will hit cinemas nationwide on November 1.
